The food is very authentic, I lived in Thailand and I'm always looking for authentic Thai restaurants in Newcastle. Tyne Taste hits the spot every time! We love the Som Tam green papaya salad, the pad krapow and the pad thai 😋 🙌 😍

Hello Mo, Krob Kun Mak Mak Ka.... For the lovely comments. We are so glad that we can make you feel that our food is truly authentic. TYNE Taste = Thai Taste 🤭💕 See you again 😊🙏🏽
Hands down the best Thai food around! The lovely lady in the kitchen is an amazing cook – every dish is full of flavour and made with so much care. You can tell she really knows her stuff. Always fresh, tasty, and leaves you wanting more. Can’t recommend Tyne Taste enough!

The best Thai food in Newcastle hands down. The massamam curry was so fragrant and the chicken kra pau had incredible flavour and heat. Just amazing. So authentic you’ll not find better. The two little bosses were brilliant too, helped me choose some delicious spring rolls.

Tyne Taste has only been open since January 2025. A mum and daughter operation - apologies for not asking their names - with mum in the kitchen and daughter front of house, last night we, as a group of four ageing adults, enjoyed a delightful Thai dining experience sitting outside. A beer from the adjacent club was an added bonus with the two businesses obviously working well together.
The menu is extensive, the quality of ingredients and cooking are top rate and the portions generous. Meals are cooked to order with care taken to establish the level of spiciness diners prefer and lots of advice on what to select.
Chef mum sought feedback after we'd finished eating - so wise for a new enterprise.
If I lived locally rather than just being a visitor to Longbenton, I would work my way through the entire menu, placing my order before taking the Metro and ensuring I had cash in my bag to pay!

Very authentic and delicious Thai food. We ordered Som Tum salad and the Pad Ka Prao (chicken) for takeaway. Both were excellent and packed with high quality ingredients. I recommend pre-ordering as there can be a wait if you turn up randomly. We typically would go to Thai House Cafe or Mantra if in city centre so it's great to have such a good Thai locally. Will be back :-)

Swandee Ka Amy 🙏🏽 Thank you for the great comments 😊 Due to our micro size kitchen and a large menu options, pre-order over the phone are recommended. We planning to open at lunch time too, that would be different way of serving and hopefully we could offer speedy lunch. See you again soon 💖
I dropped in and ordered and came back to pick up, the food was all amazing and the prices are so reasonable. Portion sizes are very generous and the spiciness is good but not too much. We'll definitely be back and I would absolutely recommend to others.

The best Thai food i've had outside of thailand. As authentic as it comes, very generous portions and prices. Great service, extremely friendly and accomodating. We rang our order in ahead of time (recommended), but there is a small outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. We'll be back again and again!

Go here. It's magnificent. They're a small, authentic Thai food place and the food is incredible. The shop is small, blink and you'll miss it, but don't let that fool you. Everyone inside is so lovely and knowledgable. If you're not sure what to get, they'll know exactly what you want and you can be confident the recommendation will be bangin'.
We went in and ordered a couple of things on our lunch break. The value for money in what we got was fantastic. Huge portion sizes and only £10 each for a main and some rice. Honestly, I reckon they're undercharging.
I had the Ginger and Mushroom Tofu with steamed rice and it was delightful. Couldn't eat it fast enough. Truly, some of the nicest asian food I've ever had. The rice alone was addictive: fluffy, light, and sticky. I watched my colleague force himself to finish the last duck spring roll because it was too good to leave behind, no matter how full he claimed to be.
Fair warning, they're cash only but do accept a bank transfer if needed. It's also not currently a short wait time, but I promise it's worth it. it's because everything is made hot and fresh. Next time we'll just call ahead with our order; not that I minded the little outdoor seating area while it was warm and sunny. I cannot wait to go back again and I thoroughly recommend others try it for themselves.- Parking
- There's a car park next to it - but that's for the social club. Depending on the time of day you might struggle. The streets around it you can use if you'll be there for less than 2 hours; otherwise it's permit-only.

- You can pretty much pick your protein. Tofu is available for all options - and let me tell you, it's really well done.
- Dietary restrictions
- There's lots of options for a lot of the common diets. As for allergens, just let them know at the front counter. Nuts, for example, there are lots of nut-free meals but they will handle them in the same area as other ingredients. It's a dinky little shop!

Nice food, decent portion size and very authentic style. Had a milky Thai green tea alongside my meal which was also very nice, creamy and sweet. They have a nice little outdoors area where you could sit when waiting for your food.
